Walmart Launches Stylish Vegan Leather Bag Line

Retailer Walmart recently debuted its Motile brand, a collection of vegan leather accessories and electronics. The brand includes items all clearly labeled as “vegan leather,” including backpacks, commuter wallets, handbags, travel organizers, tablet envelope cases, and power cord tassels. The Motile brand also features items made from vegan-friendly neoprene (a type of synthetic rubber), including a sports duffle bag and backpack. The collection is geared toward tech-savvy shoppers, with accessories starting at $15 and bags ranging between $98 and $138. Walmart’s new line is capitalizing on a growing consumer trend toward cruelty-free options, as evidenced by a report compiled by Grand View Research, which predicts that the vegan leather industry will be worth $85 billion by 2025.
