Wet n Wild Cosmetics Switching to Vegan Brushes

Makeup brand’s brushes will be completely cruelty-free by 2016.

Los Angeles cosmetics company Wet n Wild recently announced that beginning in 2016 its makeup brushes will be made from synthetic fibers. While the company’s cosmetics have never been tested on animals (and many of its products are vegan), Wet n Wild’s brushes were formerly made from animal hair. The 17 new synthetic vegan brushes will be released in January, with Wet n Wild’s Instagram followers getting a sneak peek of the pink-dipped white brushes a few weeks ago. The brand made the change after negotiations with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which is currently in talks with makeup companies NYX and PUR Cosmetics to persuade them to adopt a similar change.
