Wired Discusses Public Health Dangers of Ag-Gag

Wired recently brought the topic of public health to the forefront of the ag-gag bills conversation. Reporter Brandon Keim points out that along with flagrant animal abuse going unreported, public health is at risk if undercover investigations of factory farms are made illegal. According to Wired, experts in the food industry say blocking investigations will allow foul practices such as processing sick or injured animals. “The only glimpse we get is when we see these types of videos. The industry loves to operate in secret,” tells Bob Martin, the former executive director of Pew Commission on Industrial Animal Farm Production, to Wired.
