Plant-based brand Impossible Foods now sells its plant-based burgers and ground meat directly to consumers through its online shop. In September 2019, Impossible Foods made its retail debut at Southern California grocery chain Gelson’s and expanded to grocery stores nationwide, including to more than 1,700 Kroger-owned retailers in May. Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the company was able to bypass a Food and Drug Administration rule to allow restaurants to sell Impossible Burgers directly to consumers. With its new direct-to-consumer platform, the company now offers bulk packages of its products on the Impossible Foods website. Customers can purchase the Impossible Convenience Pack (four 12-ounce packages for $49.99); Impossible Combo Pack (two 12-ounce packages and 10 quarter-pound burger patties for $59.99); Impossible Family Pack (a five-pound bulk package for $64.99); and Impossible Grilling Pack (20 burger patties for $69.99). Shipping on all orders is free for two-day delivery.

Similarly, vegan brand The Meatless Farm recently launched direct-to-consumer platform The Farm Shop—selling its plant-based burgers, ground meat, and sausages, in single packs and bundles—and is offering customers 25 percent off their first order through June 17, with a similar shop (which also sells prepared pizzas) available to United Kingdom customers.
