The lauded cruelty-free cooking connoisseur will open a vegan comfort food restaurant in Nebraska.
November 16, 2013
Isa Chandra Moskowitz, author of the recently-released cookbook Isa Does It will open the first meat-free restaurant in Omaha, NE. Moskowitz, who is a Brooklyn native, but relocated to the small Midwestern city, has dubbed her upcoming eatery Modern Love. As a sign of vegetarianism’s growing popularity even in the country’s most remote corners, the new plant-based restaurant will be located in a building on 50th Street that was once home to Star Deli. According to the Omaha World-Herald culture blog Go, Moskowitz describes Modern Love’s fare as “swanky vegan comfort food” prepared from scratch. In addition to a new restaurant and cookbook, Moskowitz is also starring in a cooking show Make it Vegan, produced by James Beard Award-Winning company Zero Point Zero.
