Last week, Philly.com released 15 reasons why 2016 could be the Year of the Vegan in Philadelphia. With numerous delicious and convenient vegan options, the news site said this year could be the year when more people pursue a plant-based diet. “But 2016 could be a tipping point—the year when vegan eating becomes too easy, and too tasty, to pass up,” Philly.com wrote. “Options certainly abound in Philly.” The list featured everything from vegan doughnuts to veg-friendly eateries and kale-chip kits to fine dining restaurant Vedge. This announcement follows other veg-friendly moves by the Pennsylvania city such as the tourism board promoting vegetarian options and the mayoral hopefuls discussing vegan topics last year.
