Portland vegan grocery store Food Fight! recently announced its expansion to a second location in the Gateway Business District in the Halsey-Weidler Corridor. The all-vegan store first opened in 2003 and is currently operating inside Portland’s vegan mini-mall—alongside Herbivore Clothing Company, Scapegoat Tattoo, and Sweet Pea Baking Company. The new location will open in October and share a building with new coffee shop Jet Black Coffee Company, owned by a friend of the grocery store’s founders Emiko Badillo and Chad Miller. “We’re super excited to have this opportunity, and it’s been a long road to get there,” Food Fight! said in their Facebook post announcing the expansion.
