Beauty campaign The Lipstick Lobby recently launched its debut product—a politically charged “Kiss My Pink” vegan lipstick in a bright pink hue. All net profits made from the $19 tube will be donated to help fund women’s health organization Planned Parenthood. “Wearing this lipstick is a reminder that small actions can create big waves,” the company states on its website. “It’s a simple way to speak up and speak out against the threats to women’s freedoms and health care posed by the Trump administration.” The lipstick is part of a larger social media campaign, #LipstickItToTheMan, and The Lipstick Lobby collaborated with various social media influencers—such as model Salem Mitchell and Instagram star Salice Rose—to model the shade. The brand is currently working on new shades that carry different social justice messages. In April, New York restaurateur Ravi DeRossi opened vegan bar Coup in Manhattan with a similar purpose of donating all profits to organizations defunded by the Trump administration, including Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union.
