A new vegan packaged food line will debut at Terminal 5 vendor Farmers Market at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). A vegan poke bowl—which features marinated tofu, pickled ginger, watermelon radish, carrots, and a sesame oil dressing—is now available and is the first item of the line created through a partnership with animal-rights organization Vegan Outreach and food service provider Delaware North. “Countless vegans travel through LAX everyday,” Taylor Radig, Campaigns and Social Media Manager at Vegan Outreach, said, “and we’re excited Delaware North is paving the way in what we hope will become a bigger trend in airports.” Radig told VegNews that Vegan Outreach is working with Delaware North to develop further grab-and-go options that might include a plant-based chicken Caesar salad and wrap made with Gardein, vegan deli sandwiches that feature Tofurky slices, and several breakfast items.
