Vegan dessert chain Cinnaholic will open its first location in Washington, DC early next year. The 1,200-square foot shop—which will operate inside of the new Downtown Crown retail project in the Gaithersburg neighborhood—will offer freshly baked vegan cinnamon rolls that are customizable with more than 30 frosting and 20 topping options, including cookie dough, pie crumbles, and fresh fruit. Cinnaholic debuted its flagship location in Berkeley, CA in 2009 and began franchising its locations in 2014 after husband-and-wife founders Shannon and Florian Radke appeared on reality television show Shark Tank. The company currently operates 21 locations across 11 states and Canada, and announced plans in May to open an additional 136 locations, expanding its franchise footprint across the United States by 79 percent.
