Veganism made a candid appearance during Beyonce and Jay-Z’s “On the Run II Tour” concert on Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. Midway through his rapping and spinning set, DJ Khaled—one of two opening acts—spoke to the audience about how he chose to be vegan for health reasons and to set an example for his two-year-old son, Asahd Tuck Khaled. “Do we have any vegans in the house?” Khaled asked the more than 40,000 people in the audience. “The crowd was cheering while DJ Khaled was speaking, but when he mentioned how he was following a healthy, vegan diet and asked if there were any vegans in the house, the cheering ramped up a notch,” Boston-based journalist Juliet Pennington, who attended the show, told VegNews, “with lots of hoots and hollers thrown in for good measure.” Khaled explained to the crowd that Beyoncé and Jay-Z inspired the star to follow a plant-based diet, which he has done—on and off—since completing a vegan challenge with the help of  22 Days Nutrition, a meal delivery company co-founded by Beyoncé and vegan entrepreneur Marco Borges. In March, Beyoncé urged her 112 million social media fans to joined her in following a plant-based diet, which she did to prepare for her epic performance at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival.
