Unilever-owned dairy ice cream brand Magnum will add two vegan bars to its product portfolio in September. The Magnum Vegan Classic and Magnum Vegan Almond bars—made with peanut protein-based ice cream that is enrobed in dark chocolate—will be available as single bars or in four-pack boxes. The new dairy-free bars are approved by the European Vegetarian Union and will initially be available in Finland and Sweden, before expanding to other countries. Magnum joins a growing list of non-vegan brands to introduce plant-based ice cream flavors, including Häagen-Dazs, Halo Top, and Ben & Jerry’s—which added two additional flavors to its non-dairy line in January, thus increasing its number of vegan pints to total 20 percent of all of the brand’s product offerings.
