Ballast Point Brewing opened as the first craft-beer taproom at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA this week. The new bar and eatery serves a menu with inventive vegan options and a wide selection of vegan beer, including a shareable plate of Vegan Lettuce Cups that features plant-based meat by Impossible Foods, hydroponic lettuce, peppers, hoisin sauce, sriracha, garlic, lime, and Fresno chilis. Ballast Point also offers a vegan entrée: Soyrizo & Cauliflower Tacos made with avocado, chipotle tofu aioli, escabeche (marinated vegetables), and cilantro, served with chips and salsa. When it comes to libations, Ballast Point eliminated its gelatin-based filtration process in 2011, and all of its core beers are vegan-friendly with the exception of its Calm Before the Storm Cream Ale. “Ballast Point is born and raised in Southern California, so we’re particularly excited to strengthen our relationship with the local Anaheim community and beyond this, the many guests who visit Disneyland each year,” Ballast Point president Ben Dollard said. “This new location also gives our passionate brewing and culinary teams the perfect place to test new and inventive offerings, as we welcome longtime Ballast Point fans and introduce new guests to our brand.” In Florida, Disney World made a few menu updates late last year, adding vegan JUST Egg and Beyond Sausage to the breakfast menu at its fast-casual eatery Centertown Market.
