The image of vegan musician Morrissey—of The Smiths fame—was recently immortalized in the form of a Funko Pop doll. The popular toy company unveiled its Morrissey figurine at the London Toy Fair this week. The company, known for turning pop idols and fictional characters into big-eyed dolls and bobbleheads, shared images of its new Morrissey doll on Facebook garnering a variety of responses from fans. One commenter asked why the figurine was holding broccoli while another stated, “You can’t buy it unless your home is certified meat-free.” Throughout his career, Morrissey used his platform to promote the vegan lifestyle. In 2016, the musician required that all venues on his Australian tour serve only vegan food—a request that was also honored in 2015 during his performance at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. In addition to his activism, Morrissey is known for canceling shows, a fact fans pointed out in reference to the new Funko Morrissey doll. “So this is never gonna show up?” one Facebook commenter joked. The Morrissey doll will available for preorder this month and will begin shipping in July.
