Today, international chain Pizza Hut expanded its vegan menu at all of its 250 locations across the United Kingdom. The new options are Southern Fried Nuggets (made in partnership with meatless brand Quorn Foods); Vegan All About Mushrooms Pizza (made with two kinds of mushrooms and Violife cheese); and I Can’t Believe It’s Not Cheesecake (a vegan dessert that features cookie crumbles and caramel). The chain began its foray into vegan options in 2017 when it first tested a vegan pizza topped with Violife cheese. After positive feedback, Pizza Hut UK added the vegan Jack ‘n’ Ch**se pizza to the menu in January 2019 for one month to celebrate Veganuary—and kept the option on the menu permanently after selling more than 25,000 vegan pizzas in one month. In February, the chain added a dedicated vegan menu with two appetizers (Mini Corn on the Cob and Jack ‘N’ Roll baked rolls stuffed with barbecue jackfruit and Violife vegan cheese); four pizzas (Vegan Veggie, Vegan Margherita, jalapeño-spiced Vegan Hot ‘N’ Spicy Veg, and Vegan BBQ Jack ‘N’ Ch**se); and Cinnamon Bites for dessert. The newest menu expansion brings Pizza Hut UK’s vegan pizza options up to five—all of which can be ordered as half and half pies. Pizza Hut has yet to add any vegan cheese or meat options in the United States.
