This year, 200 Subway restaurants across the Netherlands will participate in the second annual “Nationale Week Zonder Vlees,” or “National Week Without Meat,” that takes place from March 11 to March 17. During the week, Subway Netherlands will highlight its vegan options, which include a newly added Vegan Supreme made with a seasoned chickpea burger patty. “We have many choices, including more and more vegetarian and vegan options,” Marc van der Lee, Regional PR & CSR Director Europe of Subway, said. “During the Week Zonder Vlees, we give our customers extra attention to these variants.” Last year, Subway added the Vegan Delite—which features a spicy vegan “steak” patty—to its locations in Finland and introduced a sandwich that features smashed falafel to 100 locations in Australia and New Zealand, the first vegan option at Subway restaurants in the region.
