This week, Nestlé added a line of vegan smoothies to its Nescafé coffee brand. The new line features two flavors, Banana and Mocha, that are made with a blend of oats, almond butter, and 100-percent Arabica coffee. “[The] products go above and beyond what is currently on shelves to deliver Nescafé’s trademark passion, expertise, and technology to the ready-to-drink coffee category,” Nescafé marketing director Leo Aizpuru said. In 2017, Nestlé added four vegan creamer flavors to its Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss brand and plans to grow its plant-based products to be worth $1 billion by 2028. This spring, the company will enter the booming vegan meat industry with its own plant-based “bleeding” burger under its Garden brand, dubbed the “Incredible Burger.”
