Nick Cannon Raves About Vegan Chicken

American actor, rapper, and television host Nick Cannon recently raved about vegan chicken from Charlotte, NC-based vegan soul food eatery Veltree. In a video shared on Facebook, Cannon was seen eating takeout from the restaurant. “It tastes better than chicken; it feels better than chicken,” he said. “Veltree—they’re doing it. I haven’t had chicken in I don’t know how long. I got it now.” In addition to the vegan Chic’n Drumsticks that Cannon was referring to (which can also be ordered as a 10-piece bucket), Veltree offers menu items such as Chic’n and Waffles, Fried Krab Cakes, and Cheeze Beyond Burgers. Cannon—who was once married to singer Mariah Carey—adopted a healthier diet, which included eliminating chicken, pork, and processed foods, after being diagnosed with lupus in 2012.
