Eat Just’s chicken lands in retailers

Eat Just, best known for its mung bean-based liquid egg, has expanded into the vegan chicken space with a quiet rollout of its newest products. Per Instagram account BigBoxVegan, the California brand’s Just Chicken—available in Original, Buffalo, and Sesame Ginger flavors—has already been spotted at Sprouts Farmers Market locations and on H-E-B’s website.

Mr. Charlie’s opens fourth location

Beloved fast-food chain Mr. Charlie’s just announced its newest location, and it’s celebrating with free vegan food. Set to open in Santa Monica, CA, Mr. Charlie’s will host a grand opening celebration on August 16. The first 111 guests will receive a free Not a Cheeseburger and fries.

Mr. Charlie’s currently operates in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sydney, Australia. Its debut in Santa Monica follows the chain’s announcement of a multi million-dollar development plan to open 18 locations across Arizona

Juicy Marbles launches new vegan salmon in the US

Recently, Slovenian brand Juicy Marbles teamed up with Austrian food tech company Revo Foods to bring a new vegan, whole-cut cod to market in the US. And there’s more where that came from. The duo has just announced the launch of another new vegan whole-cut seafood product, but this time, it’s salmon. Kinda Salmon, which is packed with protein and contains omega-3 fatty acids, is available to buy now from Juicy Marbles online store.

Califia Farms is gearing up to bring several new almond milk flavors to market, including holiday spice, pumpkin spice, and maple. On top of this, it’s also launching a limited edition horchata flavor made with rice and almond milk. It’s also bringing back beloved fall favorites like Caramel Apple Crumble Oat Creamer and Pumpkin Spice Almond Latte.

Schuman Cheese and Good Planet Foods are teaming up

Washington-based vegan cheese brand Good Planet Foods has teamed up with Italian cheese importer Schuman Cheese—which produces dairy-free cheese under the Vevan brand—to form a whole new joint venture. Together, the brands will combine their skills and reach under a new company called GPV Foods. “This collaboration strengthens our manufacturing capabilities, expands our plant-based portfolio, and positions us for rapid growth in a category we strongly believe in,” Keith Schuman, Plant-Based Business Unit Lead at Schuman Cheese, said in a statement.

Elmhurst 1925 launches 3 new minimally-processed milks

Dairy-free brand Elmhurst 1925 has launched a new line of plant milks, and it’s keeping things simple. The New York-based company is focusing on minimally processed options made with just four ingredients or fewer. The new lineup includes Unsweetened Pistachio Milk, Unsweetened Vanilla Pistachio Milk, and Unsweetened Vanilla Cashew Milk, available now at Sprouts Farmers Market locations.

Dole Whip at Costco is now vegan

Vegan food festival returns to San Diego for third year running

The Oceanside Vegan Food Festival is back for its third year, returning to Pier View Way in Oceanside, San Diego County, on August 23. Kid’s dairy-free milk brand Kiki Milk is launching at Target

Kiki Milk, which specializes in organic, nutritionally complete dairy-free milk for children and adults, is launching in California, Hawaii, and Washington Target locations this month. Three flavors will be available: original, chocolate, and unsweetened.“This launch at Target marks a major milestone in our mission to make clean, nutritious options more accessible to families everywhere,” Alex and Lauren Abelin, co-founders of PlantBaby, the makers of Kiki Milk, said in a statement. “As parents, we know how hard it can be to find truly clean, organic products for kids. We’re excited to meet more families right where they shop.”

North Carolina coffee shop becomes first to offer watermelon milk

Wildroots Coffee in Charlotte, NC, has become the first café in the US to serve Milkish’s watermelon seed milk. With two locations in the city, the shop is currently featuring the innovative milk in a Blueberry Pancake Latte, and it’s also available for purchase in its retail section. “I’d been on the search for a while for something that tastes good, steams well, has a good price, and has a better ingredient list,” said Wildroots owner Jasmine Koch.
