Dunkin’ Brands Group CEO David Hoffman says that his company’s newly formed relationship with vegan brand Beyond Meat is one that’s built to last. “I think this is going to be a partnership for years to come,” Hoffman said, sitting alongside Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown in an interview with CNBC. This week, Dunkin’ added the Beyond Breakfast Sausage Sandwich (made vegan by ordering without eggs and cheese) to its menu at select locations in New York City with a national rollout in the works. “Dunkin’ is all about democratizing trends,” Hoffman continued. “The big win here is bringing this to the masses at a compelling price.” Hoffman said he believed in Beyond Meat products, which he described are made with “clean ingredients from a clean process.” During the same interview, Brown responded to Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol who said he would not add Beyond Meat products to his company’s menu, citing that the vegan meat is too processed. “We believe our process is very clean. We’re very proud of it,” Brown countered, adding that Beyond Meat bypasses the animal to create meat directly from plants. “We welcome anyone who wants to come to our facility for a tour to do it at any time. You don’t need to call ahead.”
