Today, fast-food chain Dunkin’ added the Beyond Breakfast Sausage Sandwich to select New York City locations with plans to expand the option nationally later this year. The Beyond Breakfast Sausage Sandwich is made on a vegan English muffin and features Beyond Meat’s plant-based sausage patty served with an egg and dairy-based cheese—which can both be omitted for a fully vegan sandwich. “Beyond Meat has earned the national spotlight for its innovative products and for creating incredible awareness and excitement for the benefits of plant-based meat,” Dunkin’ CEO David Hoffmann said. “Dunkin’ has always stood apart for offering new and exciting choices to meet the needs of our on-the-go guests, and we are proud to collaborate with this industry leader to become the first United States restaurant chain to serve a Beyond Breakfast Sausage option.” To promote the new item, Dunkin’ is hosting a complimentary tasting today of the Beyond Breakfast Sausage Sandwich at select Manhattan locations—the first of which were ceremoniously served by Hoffman, Dunkin’ US Chief Marketing Officer Tony Weisman, and Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown. In June, Tim Hortons expanded its partnership with Beyond Meat to offer Beyond Breakfast Sausage at 4,000 locations across Canada, becoming the biggest chain to offer the vegan breakfast meat surpassing A&W Canada which added the option to its 925 locations in March.
