Starbucks will soon add new vegan food options at its locations across Canada, according to an employee that shared the menu update on Twitter. “I asked my manager and I’m allowed to share,” @sheriiberry_ tweeted. “Starbucks is getting a vegan yogurt parfait with blueberries and [it is] removing the cheese from the everything bagel, therefore making it vegan.” Other employees confirmed that Starbucks has already begun to remove the asiago cheese from its everything bagels in several locations. Stateside, the vegan food options at Starbucks remain limited. To change that, Johns Hopkins student Lana Weidgenant launched a Change.org petition—which has already amassed more than 14,000 signatures—asking the coffeehouse chain to add a vegan Beyond Sausage to its menu. Previously, Weidgenant petitioned Dunkin’ to add Beyond Meat to its menu, which the chain announced it would test at New York City locations last month with a national rollout of the Beyond Breakfast Sandwich in the pipeline.
