On November 12, vegan director Kevin Smith will expand Mooby’s—a once fictitious restaurant that’s now a real-life, vegan-friendly pop-up—to its first international location: Toronto, Canada. Mooby’s will serve hater totz, Cow Tipper Burgers, and specially created Canadian-inspired dishes with vegan options such as the Beyond Cow Tipper Burger. Smith is hosting the pop-up in partnership with delivery platform SkipTheDishes and virtual food hall Kitchen Hub. The pick-up-only pop-up will take place at Kitchen Hub’s Etobicoke location while SkipTheDishes will deliver the Mooby’s experience to fans in Etobicoke, downtown Toronto, and other cities planned throughout the greater Toronto area from November 26 until December 9.

“It’s happening! I’ve always dreamed of bringing the legendary Mooby’s to Canadian fans and am thrilled to work with Kitchen Hub and SkipTheDishes to make that happen,” Smith said. In April, Smith brought the restaurant to life as a delivery-only pop-up in Los Angeles before expanding the concept to his hometown of Red Bank, NJ in September and Chicago in October.

Smith went vegan—with the help of his vegan daughter Harley Quinn Smith—in 2018 after surviving a “widow-maker” heart attack. While Mooby’s is not fully vegan, it was important to Smith to provide fans with equally delicious vegan options.
