On February 6, California-based vegan brand Ripple Foods will release its first ice cream line at Sprouts Farmers Market, with an expansion planned to additional stores later this year. The new line will be made with the brand’s proprietary Ripptein protein, a pea protein-derivative that serves as an alternative to allergens such as cashews and almonds used as a base by some plant-based dairy products. The Ripple ice cream line will be available in Vanilla, Chocolate, Cinnamon Churro, Mint Chip, and Cookies & Crème flavors. In 2016, Ripple launched its vegan milk line at Whole Foods Markets and Target stores nationwide, before expanding its pea protein-based product offerings to include half-and-half, sour cream, and sports nutrition products, and (recently reformulated) yogurts.
