Restaurant chain The Cheesecake Factory recently added two new items made with plant-based Impossible Meat to its menu nationwide. The Impossible Pasta Bolognese features spaghetti topped with a tomato sauce that replaces beef with the plant-based meat and is made with sautéed mushrooms and garlic. The Impossible Taco Salad is made with Impossible taco meat, mixed greens, avocado, corn, black beans, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and dairy-based cheese, that is tossed with a vinaigrette dressing and topped with tortilla strips. Both dishes are vegetarian and, according to The Cheesecake Factory, would require heavy modification in order to be made vegan. The Cheesecake Factory first added the Impossible Burger to its menu in 2018, then served on a non-vegan brioche bun—an option which the restaurant has since updated to allow customers to order with a vegan bun and vegan cheese upon request. “When we added the Impossible Burger to our menu, we were excited to see such a positive response from our guests,” The Cheesecake Factory Chief Culinary Officer Donald Moore told VegNews. “At The Cheesecake Factory, we are focused on culinary innovation and creating delicious memorable food, and knew our guests were looking for more delicious, plant-based options, so we utilized our culinary expertise to create the Impossible Pasta Bolognese and the Impossible Taco Salad.”
