Orders for vegan food in Hong Kong have increased by 104 percent year-over-year since last May on delivery platform Deliveroo. The platform also reports an increase in restaurants offering vegan options within the last year from 80 to 266. “There has never been a better time for healthy eating in Hong Kong, whether you’re a full-time vegan or a part-time plant-based food fan,” Deliveroo Hong Kong General Manager Brian Lo said. “It’s clear that Hongkongers have a taste for more vegan options, and Deliveroo is more than happy to oblige as we’re always looking to innovate and provide more diverse takeaway eating options on our platform.”

This week, two Hong Kong restaurants—Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant Ming Court and  Green Monday’s vegan eatery Kind Kitchen—became the first in the world to offer new OmniPork Luncheon Meat on their menus, a vegan version of SPAM developed by Green Monday founder and eco-conscious entrepreneur David Yeung.
