On August 4, vegetarian fast-food restaurant Amy’s Drive Thru will open its second drive-through location in a shuttered Denny’s in Corte Madera, CA. The 4,125-square-foot restaurant—which is owned by the family who created the iconic vegetarian brand Amy’s Kitchen—will offer a fully veganizeable menu of organic burgers, pizza, chili fries, mac and cheese, and milkshakes, and a full breakfast menu that includes vegan sausage-and-cheese sandwiches, hash browns, and yogurt parfaits. The new location of Amy’s Drive Thru will feature a 98-seat outdoor patio along with indoor seating that can accommodate 68 guests once COVID-19 orders permit indoor dining.
Amy’s Drive Thru opened its flagship drive-through location in Rohnert Park, CA in 2015—which served 500 people who waited in line for more than an hour on opening day. Amy’s Drive Thru has been planning the Corte Madera location for several years and overcame the city’s previous regulation that did not allow for the operation of drive-throughs. “I’m so glad Corte Madera is getting its very own Amy’s,” Corte Madera Mayor Eli Breckman said. “During these unusual times, I know many of us will appreciate being able to drive through for some wholesome and delicious comfort food. As a sustainable and responsible Bay Area local business, we are excited to welcome Amy’s into our community—and I’m excited for some broccoli mac and cheese.”
The Corte Madera location will be outfitted with 42 solar panels, a “living roof” filled with plants to provide habitats for pollinators, two electric car-charging stations, and 47 parking spaces for cars (and 12 bike racks). “Our mission at Amy’s Drive Thru is to make organic and delicious food accessible for everyone,” Amy’s Drive Thru president Dave Wolfgram said. “We are thrilled to join the Corte Madera community and hope to bring joy and convenience to our neighbors and visitors during these challenging times and beyond.”
Amy’s Drive Thru also operates a modified version of its restaurant at the San Francisco International airport.
The Corte Madera location will be open seven days per week from 11am until 10pm.
