This week, coffee chain Starbucks added oat milk to its menu at all Canadian locations. The new vegan milk option is the chain’s fourth dairy alternative, joining soy, almond, and coconut milk. The new oat beverage is made without preservatives, artificial flavors or colors, and is made with oats sourced from Canada. To celebrate the launch, Starbucks created a featured vegan Apple Oat Flat White—which is only available in Canada—made with espresso, steamed oat milk, roasted apple syrup, and a clove sugar topping. The chain has also added an Oat Latte made with espresso and steamed oat milk.

Stateside, Starbucks added Oatly’s vegan oat milk to the menu at approximately 1,300 locations earlier this year in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin. The dairy-free milk offerings aim to support the company’s global sustainability commitments to be resource- and planet-positive by 2030.
