This month, Green Kitchen—an all-vegan “cloud kitchen” that serves vegan food for takeout and delivery—opened in São Paulo, Brazil. The concept was created by couple Daniele and Fabio Zukerman, who also manage Cooltivar (a business hub for the plant-based industry in Brazil) and PlantMade (a restaurant developed by vegan chef Matthew Kenney). Green Kitchen hosts and offers a variety of dishes made by PlantMade, PlantPizza, PlantBurger, and offers items made by other vegan brands such as Basi.co’s cheeses, butters, and nuts.

The company takes orders between 11:30am and 10:00pm and, amid the coronavirus pandemic, delivers food using sanitary methods via motorcycle couriers. “We spray [down] our motorcycle couriers at each exit from the kitchen and use double bags to be passed on to the next,” Daniele Zukerman said. “Every team is equipped with masks and gloves, as well as a daily checklist to certify the good health of our team.”

The building was custom made from glass for Green Kitchen so that takeaway customers can see its operations from outdoors. “If you decide to grab the meal yourself, not a problem,” Fabio Zukerman said. “You can watch your meal being prepared from the street.” As an added precaution, Green Kitchen does not accept cash payments to avoid possible contagions.
