Beauty Brand Adopts 12 Animals for the Days of Christmas

Brooklyn, NY-based vegan skincare brand Mullein & Sparrow pledged to adopt an animal every day for 12 days leading up to December 25. The skincare brand partnered with Farm Sanctuary to sponsor the rescued animal residents, and have thus far helped provide expenses covering food, shelter, and care for Luther the Rooster and Autumn the Goat. In the coming days, Mullein & Sparrow will also adopt Dorado the Donkey, Li Mu Bai the Rooster, Madeline the Turkey, Artemis the Duck, Mother the Goose, Vera Jo the Sheep, two hens Sunshine and Merryweather, and Frank—a steer rescued this year by comedian Jon Stewart and his wife Tracey in New York after he ran away from a slaughterhouse. “We believe that those who have the privilege of a voice, a platform of any sort,” Mullein & Sparrow founder Anit Hora tells VegNews, “should be the voice of the voiceless.” The skincare brand will share the stories of the animals they adopt on their blog, and encourage customers to do the same with promotional offers and free gifts.
