Women’s retailer Bebe recently announced it would ban exotic animal skins from its clothing line, citing a controversial undercover investigation by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Alligator, crocodile, lizard, and snake skin will all be removed from Bebe shelves after deplorable conditions at alligator and crocodile farms came to light in a PETA video exposé. Earlier this year, Bebe also banned angora wool from its locations worldwide and follows H&M, Victoria’s Secret, Topshop, Adolfo Dominguez, Mango, Nike, Adidas, and Cole Haan in the decision to phase out reptilian materials.
