For many Americans, a trip to McDonald’s was a childhood treat. Rolling up to the Golden Arches on the way home meant one thing: a Happy Meal, complete with nuggets or a cheeseburger, fries, and, of course, a toy. Usually, that toy was a small plastic figurine tied to the movie of the moment (think A Bug’s Life or Brother Bear).

Ask a child today what they’d love to find inside a Happy Meal, and there’s a good chance they’d say a Labubu. Ask an adult, and you might get the same answer. Produced by Chinese retailer Pop Mart, the pointy-eared, big-eyed, toothy-grinned figurine is everywhere right now, loved by everyone from Stormi Webster (Kylie Jenner’s seven-year-old daughter with Travis Scott) to Rihanna.

You won’t find a Labubu in a Happy Meal, but you will find it in Los Angeles-based Café Gratitude’s brand new Happy Healthy Meal. The only catch? It’ll set you back $100.

What is in Café Gratitude’s new $100 Happy Healthy Meal?

Café Gratitude has two Los Angeles locations, one in Larchmont Village and another in Venice, and both specialize in nourishing, thoughtfully crafted plant-based dishes, from pasta bowls and pizzas to wraps, sandwiches, and breakfast burritos.

The new vegan Happy Healthy Meal starts with a special burger not on the regular menu: the Double-Double Cheeseburger. Unlike McDonald’s version, Café Gratitude’s take on the fast-food classic swaps processed meat for a black bean patty, topped with Violife cheddar, pickles, salad, and Gratitude Special Sauce. It comes with hand-cut French fries, of course, and a side of organic ketchup.

The meal also includes a Juni sparkling adaptogenetic tea, plus a $20 gift card to both Café Gratitude and its sister restaurant, vegan Mexican hotspot Gracias Madre.

Then comes the main event: the Labubu. Each meal includes a Pop Mart-authenticated Big Into Energy Blind Box, containing a surprise figurine (Love, Serenity, Hope, Happiness, Luck, or Loyalty) from the Big Into Energy series. For an extra $10, you can skip the surprise and pick the exact Labubu you want.

A happy meal that gives back

The limited-edition, takeout-only meal isn’t just about the hottest toy of the moment; it’s also about giving back. A portion of the proceeds from every meal sold will be donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s Kids Café Program, which provides after-school care and ensures children receive proper nutrition.
