On September 22, the 71st Annual Emmy Awards will serve a vegan-friendly menu at its official Governor’s Ball dinner, including vegan sliders made with Beyond Meat patties topped with caramelized onions. Patina Catering—a catering company founded by acclaimed chef Joachim Splichal of the Patina Restaurant Group—created a menu this year that fits with the Governor’s Ball “Brilliance in Motion” theme with vegan celebrities in mind. Other plant-based options include tomato “tartare,” candy striped beet “poke,” Japanese eggplant, and raspberry chia seed tapioca pudding for dessert. A number of celebrities are expected to be in attendance, including longtime vegetarian Peter Dinklage who is nominated in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Tyrion Lannister in hit HBO series Game of Thrones.
