Founder of Vegan Company Pens “Dear Donald” Letter in NYT
Hampton Creek CEO Josh Tetrick blasts Trump’s “wrong” and “un-American” presidential campaign.
July 18, 2016
Josh Tetrick, CEO of vegan food producer Hampton Creek, is no fan of Donald Trump. On the eve of the Republican National Convention, Tetrick took out a $200,000 full-page advertisement in The New York Times lambasting the party’s presumptive presidential nominee. “Your campaign doesn’t just seem wrong. It feels un-American,” Tetrick’s letter stated. “To support it would make me less of myself, less of my grandpa’s grandson, less of my mom’s son.” His message to Trump is the latest in a series of “Dear” letters for which he purchased New York Times ad space in a one-man campaign to improve America’s food system. Tetrick has addressed other open letters to President Obama, the presidential candidates, and his mom, among others.
