Bella Ramsey plays tiny but mighty 13-year-old Lyanna Mormont, a fan-favorite warrior and leader, on the mega-popular HBO series Game of Thrones. Ramsey’s character is famous for her bold speeches and for defying gender stereotypes. More than 12 million viewers tuned in last Sunday to watch the much-anticipated “Battle of Winterfell” episode in which the characters fight against an undead army for humanity, with Ramsey’s character in a key role. Much like her fierce and beloved character in the series, Ramsey champions her passion for animal rights, veganism, and climate change in real life, prominently adding “vegan” to her Twitter and Instagram bios. The young actress has been vegan for more than two years and often shares vegan themes with her nearly 28,000 Twitter followers, including her support for #worldveganday; favorite cruelty-free fashion buys; and admiration of fellow vegan activist Greta Thunberg (who Ramsey calls “[the] living embodiment of Lyanna Mormont.”) In addition to her memorable role in Game of Thrones, Ramsey also stars as the title character of 2018 Netflix original series Hilda and plays the lead role in indie film Zero which recently debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival.
