On August 1, Kailua, HI-based vegan wholesale store VEDGEco will expand its distribution across the continental United States. On November 1, 2019 (World Vegan Day), brothers Trevor and Ty Hitch opened the first VEDGEco vegan wholesale warehouse in Kailua and after a successful year, decided to expand their business to serve the lower 48 states. Operating similar to Costco but with all-vegan products, the store offers items from popular brands such as Beyond Meat, Gardein, JUST, Follow Your Heart, Impossible Foods, and Field Roast at wholesale prices to restaurants, caterers, and individual customers. The company will launch as an ecommerce platform with shipping facilities on both the East and West Coast, allowing for direct-to-consumer and direct-to-business shipping within one to two days. All products are shipped frozen and packed with eco-friendly, foam-free materials.

“Our mission at VEDGEco is to make plant-based products more affordable and accessible for everyone across the United States, not just for restaurants and caterers, but for individuals and families to enjoy at home too,” VEDGEco Co-Founder and CEO Trevor Hitch said.  “Buying plant-based foods in bulk will save our customers a great deal of money. The added convenience of having these products shipped directly to their doors within one to two business days will make it easier than ever for every American to try a plant-based diet or add plant-based alternatives to their menu.”
