This week, meal kit delivery brand Home Chef announced a partnership with plant-based startup Impossible Foods. Each week, Home Chef—which delivers 3.5 million meals every month—will allow customers to replace animal protein in several recipes with plant-based Impossible Burger using its “Customize It” option.

“Variety and innovation have always been key parts of Home Chef,” Home Chef CEO and Founder Pat Vihtelic said. “With the launch of Impossible, we are providing our customers more ways to enjoy our weekly recipes and be on the forefront of the trend towards eating more plant-based foods.”

Impossible Burger will be offered to customers in a 12-ounce package that can be used in place of meat in a variety of Home Chef-generated recipes, including Basil Pesto Ground Beef Lettuce Wraps with red peppers and Vietnamese Pork Meatballs in butter lettuce cups, along with oven-ready meals such as French Onion-Crusted Beef Meatloaf with Peas & Peppers; Pork Tacos and Chili Lime Slaw; and Stroganoff Pork Meatballs with Potatoes & Peas.

“At Impossible Foods, we’ve long intended to make the Impossible Burger available anywhere that food is sold, including through meal kits,” Dan Greene, Senior Vice President of US Sales at Impossible Foods, said. “We’re thrilled to share that the Impossible Burger is now on the Home Chef menu, so that cooks everywhere can conveniently try out new recipes with our delicious meat made from plants.”

Earlier this month, Imperfect Foods—a subscription grocery delivery service that emphasizes waste reduction—also added Impossible meat as part of its plant-based protein offerings.
