For the month of December, all locations of chain Dog Haus will serve the Take Bánh Mì, the restaurant’s first vegan option. The new sandwich was created as part of the chain’s Chef Collaboration Series by Ilan Hall—owner of Los Angeles-based vegan eatery Ramen Hood and winner of season two of Top Chef. The Take Bánh Mì is made with an Impossible Burger patty, that comes topped with pickled vegetables, jalapeños, cilantro, spicy vegan mayonnaise, chili oil, and hoisin sauce, and is served on a vegan ciabatta roll. “Having the opportunity to continually work with such an innovative brand has been a career highlight,” Hall said. “To say that I’m excited to work with this team is an understatement. I’m currently focused on creating vegan dishes that will surpass expectations and I’m honored to have the opportunity to use my culinary expertise to create Dog Haus’ very first vegan item.” The chain also offers plant-based meat products, including burgers and sausages, made by Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat, respectively on its permanent menu. For every vegan Take Bánh Mì sold throughout December, Dog Haus will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry to support the organization’s fight to end childhood hunger.

Note: Impossible Burger patties and other ingredients are prepared and cooked alongside non-plant-based items.
