On February 1, the first-of-its-kind, one-day Vegan Women Summit (VWS) will take place in San Francisco. This inaugural event aims to inspire and empower female and female-identifying vegan changemakers—but is open to anyone who would like to attend. Speakers include Miyoko’s Creamery founder Miyoko Schinner, vegan Olympian and Switch4Good founder Dotsie Bausch, physician Angie Sadeghi, MD, and Slutty Vegan founder Pinky Cole, who will share their unique experiences and how their vegan identity is brought to their craft. The event will also feature a Compassionate Marketplace, an exhibition and sampling of products made by female founders. “As a vegan leader in the tech industry, I’ve been fortunate to meet countless vegan women excelling across the world, ranging from CEOs and Olympians to celebrities and activists, and have often wondered how we can better galvanize our movement to empower more compassionate professionals,” VWS founder Jennifer Stojkovic told VegNews. “Through the creation of VWS, I am excited to celebrate the many achievements of our leading vegan changemakers, inspire rising and future leaders, and launch the beginning of a global movement for vegan women everywhere.”
