For obvious reasons, Joe Jonas doesn’t have much time to cook. The musician is about to release his second solo album, and soon after, he’ll be heading out on tour with the Jonas Brothers. During that time, he told GQ, he’ll eat “clean” and “strict,” though he does allow himself a few indulgences.

When he’s not on tour, Jonas describes himself as a “foodie.” “I like going to fancy spots and finding wine bars around the world,” he said. “I feel like wine bars nowadays have the best little snacks.”

But what about when he’s just at home—no fancy wine bars, no performances? That’s when he turns to a simple, classic breakfast.

What does Joe Jonas eat for breakfast?

“I make some pour-over coffee, and I’m pretty basic with my breakfast,” he said. “It’s usually scrambled eggs, avocado, and sometimes I spice it up with some fun additions like a truffle sauce.” He added: “I try to cook. I like to cook.”

In a previous GQ interview from 2021, Jonas also mentioned that he sometimes starts his day with a vegan smoothie, packed with prebiotics, probiotics, organic vegetables, fruit, ginger, and a scoop of vegan protein powder.

Protein is a big part of Jonas’ routine. He needs the energy to power through sold-out shows and fitness classes—his favorites include yoga and Raw Fit.

His go-to egg scramble is full of protein, fiber, and healthy fats (thanks to the avocado). But if you’re avoiding eggs, it’s easy to recreate the star’s morning meal without animal products—without sacrificing protein.

3 Dippy Vegan Eggs

If you’re looking to switch things up from a scramble, these dippy vegan eggs deliver all the richness and satisfaction of traditional yolks—without the animal products. Turmeric and black salt give them a golden hue and velvety, egg-like texture that’s perfect for dipping avocado toast. While the protein mainly comes from nutritional yeast (about two grams per tablespoon), you can easily boost the protein content of these dippy eggs by sprinkling on hemp seeds or serving them alongside tofu or vegan bacon.
