Kat Von D Beauty Debuts 40 New Vegan Lipsticks

Makeup brand Kat Von D Beauty—founded by vegan makeup mogul/tattoo artist Kat Von D—released the vegan Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick collection. The line features a spectrum of 40 shades in three finishes (Satin Matte, Metallic, and Glimmer) developed with a highly pigmented vegan base, including the “White Out”—a color that can be used as a base layer to intensify other shades. Each new shade comes in a studded black lipstick case inspired by Von D’s favorite bracelet. Last year, Von D committed to removing all animal products (such as carmine, or ground-up insect bodies) from her beauty collections. In addition to releasing a vegan reformulation of her popular Shade + Light makeup palette in 2016, Von D partnered with Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong to create the “anti-precision” Basket Case limited edition eyeliner that debuted in stores this month. Von D is currently designing a vegan shoe collection and frequently works with nonprofit organization Mercy For Animals to promote animal rights.
