Animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released its annual list of America’s top 10 most vegan-friendly ballparks last week. Newcomer Globe Life Park in Arlington, TX took top honors with its all-vegan cart that serves up dairy-free nachos, black bean burgers, Lightlife hot dogs, chicken wraps made with Beyond Meat, and more. The number two spot went to Target Field in Minneapolis—where vegan shop The Herbivorous Butcher now sells its sriracha brats and Italian sausages thanks to a recent partnership with the stadium’s MSP Kosher Stand—while last year’s top contender, Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium, slipped to fourth place. The middle of the list was dominated by last year’s favorites, New York’s Citi Field for its vegan pizza offerings and Chase Field in Phoenix for its soy chorizo-based tamales. New York’s Yankee Stadium and Baltimore’s Oriole Park at Camden Yards secured the seventh and eighth spots thanks to readily available veggie burgers and hot dogs. San Francisco’s AT&T Park slipped three spots down into the ninth position, while Citizen Bank Park in Philadelphia—which held the runner-up position last year—fell to tenth place. “These popular stadiums prove that vegan eating is as American as baseball and apple pie,” PETA’s Executive Director Tracy Reiman said.
