British vegan chef and cookbook author Giuseppe Federici has opened a tiramisu shop in London. Yes, it’s devoted entirely to vegan tiramisu. You’re not dreaming.
Federici opened his first vegan pop-up in food court Boxhall Liverpool Street earlier this year, serving both pasta and tiramisu. After its success, he returned to the London food scene for a three-month residency at the Shoreditch foodie hotspot Boxpark in September, but this time he is focused exclusively on his signature dessert.
“I felt London was lacking a tiramisu-only spot,” Federici, who released his debut cookbook, Italian Cooking With Nonna, in 2024, told VegNews. “When I got the opportunity to have a space in Box Park, I figured it was the perfect time to do it.”

Perfecting the ultimate vegan tiramisu recipe
Traditionally made with coffee, ladyfingers, egg yolks, mascarpone, and cocoa, this creamy, indulgent Italian dessert isn’t easy to veganize. But after extensive recipe development, Federici believes he has nailed tiramisu’s signature pillowy texture and rich, bittersweet flavor.
“I’ve managed to find some very high-quality ingredients that help me make it the best that it can be,” he said. “Most of my customers don’t even realize, but it has taken a lot of recipe development to get here. We are constantly innovating and trying new flavors.”
Customers at Giuseppe’s Tiramisu can currently choose from three flavors: Pistachio, Biscoff, and Nutella. More options are on the way, including classic coffee.
According to Federici, his recipe has even converted some self-confessed tiramisu haters. “Some people come to me and say they don’t usually like tiramisu, but they like ours because it’s the perfect balance of sweetness and texture,” he said.

London’s thriving vegan food scene
London is currently a hub of vegan innovation. Alongside Giuseppe’s Tiramisu, vegan chicken shop Chickenish has opened in London Fields, while popular vegan sandwich shop Coven of Witches has launched a new location in Brixton. According to HappyCow, the city is home to 65 vegan and vegetarian restaurants, and more than 700 vegan-friendly eateries.
According to Federici, more Giuseppe’s Tiramisu locations could be on the horizon. “We’re loving East London for now, but I would love to also have more stores in other locations of London, especially central and west, because we have such a huge fan base there,” he said.
“We just want to spread the word and the message that plant-based tiramisu can be delicious,” he added. “You haven’t got to make any compromises.”
Giuseppe’s Tiramisu is open Tuesday to Sunday at Boxpark Shoreditch.
