By August, Oceania Cruises will add extensive plant-based options to all of the dining facilities aboard all six of its cruise liners. While the cruise company previously offered a small selection of vegan options, it now offers 200 plant-based dishes developed in collaboration with vegan chef Christophe Berg. New breakfast dishes include Banana-Oatmeal Pancakes with Berries and Maple Syrup; Green Apple Müesli with Pistachios, Pecans, and Yellow Raisins; and Avocado Toast on Rustic Farmer’s Bread. Lunch and dinner offerings are inspired by global cuisines and feature dishes such as an Impossible Cheeseburger; Korean Kimchi Soup; Truffle Mac and Cheese; Falafel Fritters with Plant-Based Harissa Mayo, Cucumber, Mint, and Capers; and a Hawaiian Poke Bowl. Oceania will also offer an array of dessert options such as Vodka-Marinated Strawberries Romanoff with plant-based Vanilla Ice Cream; Apple-Oatmeal Crumble (also served with vegan ice cream); and Coco-Vanilla Cashew Crème Brûlée. The menu update is part of the company’s multi-year, $100 million modernization initiative OceaniaNext which also includes the installation of Vero Water systems onboard to eliminate plastic bottle waste.
