Mario Batali’s Edible Garden

Celebrity chef Mario Batali, featured on The Food Network, will help kick-off The New York Botanical Garden’s 2011 gardening season. On April 12, Batali will join Bronx schoolchildren in celebrating the benefits of vegetable gardening, as well as commemorating 25 years of the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden, a part of the Botanical Garden where people can have a hands-on learning experience with gardening. Batali is also planting the first seeds for Mario Batali’s Edible Garden, a garden featuring beds of his favorite ingredients, as well as daily gardening activities and cooking demonstrations using produce from the garden.
