Vegan meal-delivery service Veestro added new dish Shr’mp Jambalaya ($11.99) to its menu this week. The new option features brown rice in a spiced tomato sauce with vegan chicken, plant-based pepperoni, and shrimp from Silicon Valley-based food-technology startup New Wave Foods. New Wave’s soy-based shrimp—which is served in place of the crustacean at Google’s headquarters cafeterias—mimics the taste of its animal counterparts, as it is made with red algae, the main dietary component of shrimp. The new dish is part of Veestro’s selection of á la carte entreés, which also includes a variety of pizzas, casseroles, soups, salads, burgers, and stews. The delivery service—which ships to all 50 states—also offers breakfast dishes, desserts, meal packs, weight loss plans, and juice cleanses.
