MN Ag-Gag Bill Dies

Following the events of a similar bill in the Florida legislature, a controversial bill that would prohibit photography on farms in Minnesota has died. The bill, which would have made undercover investigations of animal cruelty by animal-rights organizations illegal, failed when the current legislative session ended. “This bill would have criminalized whistle-blowing at a time when we need more transparency about animal welfare, not less,” says Howard Goldman of the Humane Society of the United States. The last of the “ag-gag” bills are in Iowa and New York, where both are currently under consideration.
