Musician/vegan activist Moby recently put his $1.3 million New York property up for sale. The musician will donate all proceeds of the sale to benefit charitable organizations. “Ok, this might seem odd … I have a beautiful house in Pound Ridge, NY,” Moby captioned a photo of the property on Instagram. “I’m going to sell it and take the money [to] support progressive political candidates, support my animal-rights foundation, produce documentaries, and fund scholarships.” Moby decided to sell the two-bedroom home—designed in 1957 by David Henken, a disciple of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright—because the Los Angeles resident is “rarely there.” Moby announced his retirement from the music industry earlier this year and revealed his intent to dedicate his time to animal-rights issues. Shortly thereafter, Moby partnered with online retailer Reverb.com to sell more than 100 of his musical instruments and his entire record collection to benefit vegan medical group Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
