A new line of barley-based vegan milk recently launched in grocery stores and coffee shops across the Pacific Northwest and Los Angeles. Made by Portland, OR-based brand Take Two Foods, the line is available in four flavors: Original, Vanilla, Chocolate, and Chef’s Blend.
Take Two makes its barley milk using upcycled grains that would otherwise go to waste or be used as feed in the animal agriculture industry. “Our commitment is to craft the world’s most remarkable plant-based foods made with the highest-quality ingredients while championing the planet’s resources,” Take Two co-founder and CEO Sarah Pool said. “Food that tastes amazing and truly nourishes, without the environmental impact.”
Currently, Take Two’s barley milk is available in 25 locations and for shipping nationwide through its website. The brand plans to expand distribution of its barley milk line to additional retailers and through the foodservice sector in the fall of 2020.
