All-vegan bed and breakfast Casa Bianca recently opened in Rincón, Puerto Rico. The property consists of four apartments in a three-level building, including a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment that can accommodate up to six guests, and three, one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments that can accommodate up to four guests each. Every unit includes a fully equipped kitchen, private entrance, and its own balcony or sitting area. Owner Frances Gonzalez—who also created the California-based all-vegan wine club Vegan Wines—offers vegan catering services for special events, wine from Vegan Wines, and packages that explore the town on a party bus, taking guests to every vegan-friendly hotspot in the region. “Rincon is also one of Puerto Rico’s most vegan-friendly towns,” Gonzalez said. “There is a strong presence in eating more natural (vegan) foods, to live by practicing animal-cruelty awareness, veganism, and agriculture. Their community is very strong in cleaning up the beaches and waters. Rincón was the first town in Puerto Rico to ban the use of plastic bags.” Casa Bianca joins other vegan bed and breakfasts around the world, including Peasholm Park in the United Kingdom and Red Robin Song Guest House in New York.
